Environmental Volunteer | Oxigénio
Environmental volunteer actions, for the conservation and recovery of nature, open to the entire community. An opportunity to get in direct contact with nature, perform tasks that are not common in our daily lives and increase environmental literacy.
Notes:
- The tools for the actions are provided by the organization;
- It is advisable to wear clothing and footwear suitable for the weather conditions and comfort;
- You can bring your gloves;
- You can bring your pet;
- Actions can be canceled up to 5 pm the day before, due to lack of conditions for their realization (bad weather or insufficient number of participants)
Program:
OXIGÉNIO ACTION: Sintra-Cascais Natural Park
These are actions for the recovery and conservation of nature that take place throughout the year, mostly in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. These actions include recovering a forest, cleaning and requalifying streams and ponds, maintaining trails, capturing butterflies, building insect shelters, and building nest boxes.

BANCO GENÉTICO VEGETAL AUTÓCTONE ACTION: Plant Nursery
In the local plant nursery, volunteers get involved in cleaning seed, sowing, and staking.

LIFE RESLAND ACTION
The Life ResLand project aims to improve and make more resilient the landscape, particularly in the protected area of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, to the impacts of climate change. The actions developed will minimize soil erosion, promote the diversification of ecosystem services and guarantee biodiversity.
