Guided tour “You can only paint what you see”, at Casa das Histórias Paula Rego
To commemorate European Museum Night (May 17) and International Museum Day (May 18), the Cultural and Educational Service invites you to spend a late Saturday afternoon among stories at the exhibition “The Casa das Histórias Paula Rego Collection in Dialogue”.
This after-hours visit revisits the different periods of Paula Rego's work, shows the evolution of her creative process and challenges visitors to (re)find stories and narratives from their/our collective imagination.
Between traditional tales and fairy tales, memories of trips to the opera and the series of nursery rhymes that were the inspiration for a ballet, the House marks these ephemeris by highlighting the importance of stories, for their popular knowledge and tradition passed down from generation to generation, doing justice to one of the axes highlighted by the International Council of Museums: Intangible Heritage.
