Senior Art - Recycling: Collective Exhibition
This exhibition showcases works created from recycled materials by users of the Santa Casa da Misericรณrdia de Cascais Day Center, as part of the โConvidar a Lerโ (Invitation to Read) project launched in 2022 by the Cascais Municipal Library Network. Through reading and partnerships with the municipality's Day Centers, the project aims to combat the isolation of the municipality's senior population.
For the beautiful works created by this talented group of users โ inspired by Portuguese crafts โ various types of recyclable materials were used: coffee capsules, pieces of fabric and lace, paper, among many others, which were applied using sculpture, painting, and textile art techniques. In addition to encouraging reading through the โConvidar a Lerโ (Invitation to Read) program, which allows users to choose books without leaving the Day Center, this exhibition also encourages creativity and the sharing of their work with the surrounding community.ย
