Brass Quintet of the GNR Symphonic Band
Cascais presents a concert by the Brass Quintet of the National Republican Guard Symphonic Band, as part of the 3rd anniversary of the Estoril Academy of Arts.
On January 28th, at 6 PM, the Carlos Avilez Auditorium will host the performance of this GNR musical ensemble, composed of two trumpets, a French horn, a trombone, and a tuba. Their repertoire includes original works by renowned composers for this type of ensemble, as well as various arrangements and transcriptions that allow the group to explore diverse musical styles.
With the aim of bringing the population closer to the GNR institution, the GNR Music Band, through its various chamber music groups, carries its mission throughout the national territory. As the Brass Quintet's repertoire is quite flexible, it is suitable for different audiences and events, namely: concerts, recitals, educational and institutional outreach.
Estoril Academy of Arts | Now called the Estoril Academy of Arts, the iconic Cruzeiro Building opened to the public on January 28, 2023, as a cultural center dedicated to the performing arts such as theater, film, music, and dance. Maintaining the historic facade designed by architect Filipe Nobre de Figueiredo in 1947, the interior was completely remodeled, resulting in different spaces dedicated to education and culture. It houses the Cascais Professional Theater School, the Cascais Music Conservatory, and the Paulo Ribeiro Company.
