Description

OPENING: November 9 at 6:30 p.m.

“Álibi” is an exhibition that plunges into the depths of emotions, where desire is the central element that persists, expressed symbolically through abstract painting. Luciana Loureiro uses the concept of “Alibi” as a metaphor to justify her desire-driven creations, using visual artifices such as colors and shapes to express her feelings and emotions, almost like a spiritual need.

Luciana's art speaks of overcoming restlessness and setbacks in the search for the fulfillment of desires, and the appropriation of voids as a possibility to create new paths. Her work combines movement and color in a precise and delicate technique that gives lightness to the forms. The use of planes, depths, plays of light and shadow, textures and overlapping layers evoke subjective sensations and ideas.

This exhibition invites the public on a journey of discovery through new perspectives.

Luciana Loureiro is Portuguese-Brazilian. She was born in 1959 in Santo André (SP), Brazil. In 2017, she came to Portugal, traveled from north to south to choose a city to live in, and when she arrived in Cascais, she fell in love with the town. It was in 2021, after the pandemic, that she moved permanently. She graduated in Architecture and Urbanism from Mackenzie University in São Paulo. She has been studying Abstract Painting at the NextArt Artistic Training Center, with painter Rui Tavares, since 2021.
