Fragments, by Filipa Pais Rodrigues
The Cascais Cultural Centre is presenting the exhibition Fragments, by Filipa Pais Rodrigues. On canvas or in installations, the artist develops a creative path based on the concepts of construction and deconstruction, inspired by the cities that have moulded her identity. The exhibition is organised by the D. Luรญs I Foundation, with the support of Cascais City Council, as part of the Museum Quarter programme.
Filipa Pais Rodrigues explores self-knowledge and artistic creation through her experiences in various cities, revealing that life encompasses the experience of being citizens of the world.
In the artist's works, gold prevails, a colour associated with the sun and power, great ideals and wisdom. Through small and medium-sized paintings adorned with gold and silver leaf, viewers are invited to discover what these layers conceal and, at the same time, what they reveal, in a challenge to the organisation of thought, which promotes positive energies and induces harmony.
