12th edition of Artemar Estoril 2025, by Nuno Sousa Vieira, Evy Jokhova and Francisco Figueiredo Lopes
The Artemar exhibition returns to the Passeio Marรญtimo do Estoril, next to the Atlantic Ocean, where contemporary sculpture and installation can be enjoyed by a wide range of audiences, through the creative processes of Nuno Sousa Vieira, Evy Jokhova and Francisco Figueiredo Lopes, the artists invited to the 12th edition of a unique and distinctive event in the way art is presented in Portugal.ย
The event is organized by Cascais Municipal Council and the D. Luรญs I Foundation and curated by Luรญsa Soares de Oliveira.
Sculptor Nuno Sousa Vieira has created โVaiโ, a process of cutting and assembling wooden modules, which invokes the rotation of the ellipse, opening up a space inside it that not only cites the opening of the lens at the moment of photography, but also the very process of looking at the distant horizon.
Evy Jokhova presents โThe Sun Worshippersโ, three three-meter masts joined at the base by a dyed textile element, which is rolled up between the masts and has hand-shaped elements on the sides.
Francisco Figueiredo Lopes brings โMake It Burn, Then Holdโ to the Estoril promenade, setting a metal claw in a state of continuous tension. There is no beginning or end, just the prolongation of a gesture that is repeated until it becomes a structure.ย
