Pastoral Symphony, concert by the Cascais Symphony Orchestra
There is only one Pastoral Symphony. The composer Ludwig van Beethoven showed the way to true programmatic music and transformed the symphony into a play or a journey through nature.
To the repertoire of this performance by the Cascais Symphony, we add one of the favorite violin concertos, loved by audiences and performers alike, a work full of romantic emotion and brilliance. We begin with a short piece by Joly Braga Santos, celebrating the 101st anniversary of the Portuguese composer's birth.
