Municipal Heritage Routes | Republican Wall
As part of the celebrations marking the establishment of the Portuguese Republic on October 5, 1910, we suggest a stroll through Parede, the town where the Republican Center of the Municipality of Cascais was founded in 1908.ย
Parede, a peaceful seaside village with a past marked by a large and traditional working-class population linked to stonework, also attracted the republican bourgeoisie of Lisbon, who built their homes, especially in the south of Parede, endowing it with significant examples of so-called โsummer architecture.โ
This itinerary invites you to discover the most emblematic spaces and architecture of Parede's deep connection to republicanism and the figures who represented it.
