The Husband Goes Hunting
Comedy by Georges Feydeau and directed by Maria Henrique
The 1990s... The 19th century. Leonor and Duarte are what you'd expect from a young bourgeois couple in monarchical Portugal: good looks, good manners, money and servants. Duarte is busy with his affairs as a successful gentleman and entrusts his best friend, Manuel, with Leonor's company. This coexistence gives rise to fortuitous and inopportune feelings, which are either tried to be repressed or lead to near perdition...
With lost pants and the police in the mix, O Marido Vai À Caça is a typical doorstop comedy, marked by a frenetic pace of adventures, misunderstandings and revelations, which trap the characters until it's “save yourself if you can”. Love, friendship, temptation, betrayal, marriage, divorce - there are many timeless themes portrayed (and satirized) in this hilarious play by the famous playwright Georges Feydeau.
