“Read and Reread Outside Doors”
The public bookcase “Read and Reread” will be available outside doors. Leave a book and take another, up to four and in good conditions, is the concept to retain.
Starting from 1st July’23, World Library Day, this space dedicated to the free and anonymous exchange of second-hand books - similar to the international model public bookcases, is already available in the Municipal Library of S. Domingos –, will now be present in Parque Morais, in Parede; in Parque Urbano Outeiro de Polima, in S. Domingos de Rana; in Parque Urbano do Outeiro dos Cucos, in Alcabideche.
When allowing easy and simple access to books, “Read and Reread” aims to contribute to one of public libraries primary missions: stimulate and consolidate reading habits. Simultaneously, while promoting a solidary exchange of second-hand books, this project aims to inspire good practices that contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Conditions of participation:
- Leave one, take one. Leave two, take two. Up to the maximum of four;
- The book should be in good conditions;
- Out-of-date content is not advised, in the case of technical works;
- School manuals are not accepted.
Since this actions aims only to the exchange of books, for donations, send an email to bibliotecas@cm-cascais.pt stating what you pretend to donate, in order to schedule the date, hour and place of delivery.
