2nd Meeting of Itinerant Libraries in the Lisbon district
This 2nd Meeting of Itinerant Libraries in the District of Lisbon, an initiative of Cascais City Council, once again has the support of BAD - the Portuguese Association of Librarians, Archivists, Information and Documentation Professionals. If the first meeting, held in 2023, evoked the legacy of Branquinho da Fonseca, this second edition will highlight new itinerant projects, marked by the diversity of approaches, as well as the plan to create a Working Group for professionals in the field, who challenge themselves every day and commit themselves to their communities, taking culture, leisure and complicity on the road.
The participation of the itinerant libraries in circulation in the Lisbon region - Almada, Azambuja, Cascais, Lisbon, Oeiras and Vila Franca de Xira -, the Bibliomóvel team from Santa Maria da Feira and the Aletria project - Itinerant Library of the Casa Invisível Cultural Association, will offer a unique perspective on the diversity and importance that these cultural facilities play in their territories and the versatility of the itinerant professionals who transport the world on wheels.
Target audience: Librarians, information professionals and anyone interested in libraries, books, reading and the dissemination of knowledge.
