Encounters of Wisdom: A Series of Inspiring Sharing Sessions - “Wisdom”
This event is part of the “Encontros de Sabedoria” (Encounters with Wisdom) series, a project conceived and organized by Maria da Conceição Valdez Telles de Menezes. The next Encounter will focus on the theme “Wisdom,” featuring Pedro Teixeira da Mota and with commentary by Mário Simões.
Topics the conference will address:Wisdom throughout the centuries among peoples, religions, and traditions. The enduring Philosophia (love of Wisdom) and Theosophia (Divine Wisdom). Archangelic and Angelic Wisdom—moral, practical, health-related, and popular. Logos, Love, Beauty, Wisdom, Sophia, the Holy Spirit, Hikmat. Western traditions: Shamanic, Egyptian, Greek, pre-Roman and Roman, Christian, Gnostic. Clergy and mystics, humanists (such as Pico, Ficino, Erasmus, Damião Góis), Hermeticists, esotericists, and perennialists. The Portuguese and Russian traditions: connections and Saint Sophia. The Eastern tradition, from Iran (Zoroastrian, Ishraqi, and Shia) and India (Yoga, darshanas, and Vedanta). Buddhism and Taoism. Other peoples. Lineages, schools, orders, associations, traditions, and ecumenical gatherings. The occult constitution of the human being (body-soul-spirit and bi-unity) within the multidimensionality of the Cosmos. Sacred texts, hermeneutics, images, symbols, emblems, icons, and the Tarot. Psycho-spiritual and religious theories, methodologies, and eschatologies. Asceticism and pilgrimage, prayer and meditation, silence. Death and the afterlife. At the end, there will be a guided meditation led by Pedro Teixeira da Mota.

Pedro Teixeira da Mota (Spiritual Researcher) holds degrees in Law and Yoga; he is a researcher, ecologist, professor, writer, and lecturer with published studies and works in the fields of history, ecology, humanism, essays, the East, yoga, and spirituality.
Mário Pinto Simões (Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist) is a retired professor of Psychiatry and Consciousness Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. He is co-author of the book *Psychology of Consciousness—A Transpersonal Perspective* and the book *Manual of Clinical Hypnosis —Theory, Research, and Practice*.
