Ascension
“Ascension” is artist Beatriz Silva’s second solo exhibition and is part of the Art Weekend event, organized by the Pisão Social Support Center, which features art workshops, exhibitions, and other activities.
The exhibition showcases a variety of artistic media, with painting and tapestry taking center stage. The works draw on various references to the Center, which serves as a source of inspiration for the artist and also tends to inspire those who visit it.
Symbolism is the theme of the exhibition. The paintings are largely based on drawings, allowing the artist to construct a visual journey where figurative works coexist with abstract ones.
The artist will also conduct workshops at the Chapel of the Holy Family, a space of particular historical and symbolic value that was restored over the course of last year.
“Ascension” thus invites reflection on symbolism and on how spaces, memories, and experiences can be transformed into artistic material.
