OLHARES SOBRE… | 24th French Film Festival: Le Chant des Forêts (The Song of the Forests)
As part of the Olhares sobre… (Perspectives on…) series, the 24th French Film Festival comes to Casa das Histórias Paula Rego, the museum dedicated to the painter Paula Rego, with a screening of Le Chant des Forêts (The Song of the Forests), the new documentary by Vincent Munier.
Following The Velvet Queen, wildlife photographer and filmmaker Vincent Munier takes us deep into the forests of the Vosges, in north-eastern France. This is where he learnt everything from his father, Michel, a naturalist who spent his life exploring the woods. Now it is time to pass that knowledge on to Vincent's own son, Simon.
Three generations share the same passion for the natural world. Through their eyes, we encounter deer, rare birds, foxes and lynxes and, every now and then, the wingbeat of a legendary bird: the capercaillie.
