Baskets of Times Past
Basket weaving is one of the oldest ways humans have found to turn plant fibres into useful objects. In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how natural raw materials are prepared, woven and shaped into baskets and other containers.
Combining archaeological background with practical experimentation, the workshop explores the skills and knowledge our ancestors needed to make everyday vessels and tools. Every participant will have the chance to try out the techniques and make a small piece to take home.
The workshop runs in two sessions: 10h00 - 13h00 and 14h00 - 17h00.
Suitable for ages 12 and over.
