Visits to the Cascais Tide Gauge
Sunday, May 17th, visit the Cascais Tide Gauge, which will be open to the public as part of the International Museum Day celebrations (May 18th).
Come and learn about the history of one of the first European observatories dedicated to the study of tides, and which is still the only one in the world that functions perfectly, with continuous records since 1882.
In addition to this function, the Cascais Tide Gauge also marks the altimetric zero of mainland Portugal, the point from which the altitudes of our territory are measured.
Guided tours are available and last approximately 45 minutes.
