Description

Come and discover what is under your feet when you walk through Quinta do Pisão - Nature Park. Did you know that the formation of the Serra de Sintra influenced the various soil layers and consequently the types of vegetation we find along the paths of Quinta do Pisão? 

In this exhibition you will be able to know a little more about the geology of the Parque Naturak de Sintra-Cascais and, in particular, of the Quinta do Pisão, Nature Park.
Visit from 1 November to 28 February, at Casa da Cal.

LECTURES - 14 December
(free, however previous presence confirmation is mandatory)

10.30 am to 11 am
> "The before, during and after the formation of the Sintra Mountains".
    Speaker: Dr. Mário Cachão - Prof. Associated with Aggregation of the University of Lisbon, Sciences, Geology 

11 am to 11.30 am
> "When the dinosaurs roamed around Sintra and Cascais: the footprints of Praia Grande and Cascais and other traces of these animals in the region of Lisbon".
    Speaker: Dr. Silvério Figueiredo - Prof. Assistant of the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar, President, Founding Partner and researcher of the Portuguese Center for Geo-History and Prehistory.

11.30 am to 12 pm
> "The geological landscapes of the region of Sintra, from Cascais to the Azenhas do Mar".
    Speaker: Dr. Nuno Pimentel - Prof. Assistant with Aggregation of the University of Lisbon, Sciences, Geology

12 pm to 12.30 pm
Special participation of Prof. António Galopim de Carvalho - Portuguese university professor, Bordalo Prize (1994) in Sciences, awarded by the Portuguese State (to be confirmed)
