Visits to the Cascais Marégrafo
As part of the celebrations for International Monuments and Sites Day ( April 18), the Cascais Marégrafo opens to the public, free of charge, on Saturday April 19.
Come and take the opportunity to visit one of the first European observatories dedicated to the study of currents and tides, and the only one in the world that is still in perfect working order today, with continuous recordings since 1882.
In addition to this function, the Cascais Marégrafo also marks the altimetric zero of mainland Portugal, the point from which the altitudes of our territory are measured.
The visits last approximately 45 minutes and will be accompanied by the Marégrafo manager.
Times: 10am; 11am; 12pm; 2pm; 3pm; 4pm
