Guided tour - Quinta Nova de Santo António in Carcavelos
Description
On the 30th of March we'll be visiting Quinta Nova de Santo António in Carcavelos. Located between the old village and the sea, it has a well-known past dating back to the 14th century. At this former recreational, leisure and production farm, we'll explore events as important to Portuguese history as the Philippine invasion of 1580, the construction of the Lisbon Peninsula Defence Lines (1810), the establishment of the underwater electric telegraphy station (1870) or the 5th of October Revolution. We won't forget its architecture or some of its important owners.
