Cascais celebrates the centennial of the birth of Miles Davis, a genius who played a leading role in five movements in the history of jazz and modern music, whose legacy has shaped and continues to influence several generations.
On World Music Day, October 1, at the Carlos Avilez Auditorium, trumpeter and composer Laurent Filipe revisits key moments in the American musician’s career and repertoire, taking the audience on a guided, informative, and captivating journey through the life and work of Miles Davis.
A trumpeter and composer with a career spanning more than forty years, Laurent Filipe was strongly influenced by Miles Davis.
