Cascais County Heritage Routes: Tile Trails
This itinerary, dedicated to Cascalense's tile heritage, will allow us to get to know not only the various national artistic creations, but also the different decorative schemes, from the exuberant decorative palette of the geometric “patterned” tiles of the 17th century to the splendid “blue and white” figurative panels of the Baroque and 18th century rocaille.
Join us on this tour and find out more about the historic collection of late 17th century tiles by António de Oliveira Bernardes that were installed in the Casa de Santa Maria in 1918, the two panels on the fountains in the Marechal Carmona Park and the polychrome painted tiles in the Condes de Castro Guimarães Museum and the Palácio dos Condes da Guarda, now the Paços do Concelho building.
