Come and learn more about Italian flavours in a gastronomic workshop rich in aromas and Neapolitan tradition.
From the preparation of the fermented dough to the tomato sauce and ending with the toppings, which can range from cheese to the famous aromatics, this will be a time to learn techniques and secrets.
At the end of the workshop you will taste the pizzas you have made, which will be harmonised with a selection of wines from Casca Wines and in the company of chef Roberto.
About the chef:
Chef Roberto Mezzapelle is originally from Sicily, from a family of cooks. He began working in the catering trade at the age of 14 in one of his parents' restaurants as a pizza assistant. He finished school and dedicated himself to the family restaurant, making pizzeria his profession. As soon as he became independent, he opened his own business.
In 2007, Roberto decided to travel in order to gain new experiences and has been to restaurants in Dubai, Switzerland, England, Spain and Germany, among others. In 2016, he became European champion in classic pizza and acrobatic pizza. In 2017, while working in Germany, he came across Chef Chakall, who had a dream of opening a pizzeria in Lisbon, and so Roberto packed his bags and landed in Lisbon to open Refeitório Senhor Abel in December 2017. In 2019, he was also involved in the start-up of the L'Origine by Chakall project and, after just five years in Portugal, he is often called upon to provide technical consultancy on the design of various catering projects, especially Italian cuisine, including Kinda Food, Gusto and many others, as well as consulting for Teka and Auchan.
He is currently the owner of the Angolo Divino pizzeria in S. João do Estoril and the Taverna Italiana foodtruck, which supports the Estoril racetrack.
