S. Domingos de Rana Municipal Library
This library has acquired the expressive value of a true cultural centre and a center for technological resources.
The building occupies a ground floor located on four different levels adapted to the topography of land and is organised around several patios.
The library is organized not by document format, but by user-profile.
The space outside the library evokes the ancient landscape and the human action in the region. In a first patio, designated as life cycle of cereals, we have the cycle of cereal production.
In another patio, called the Labyrinth, there is a spiral labyrinthine bench made from massive stone and wood, an allegory to European mythology and to the evolution of human knowledge. In this space, a lawn area and an amphitheatre are also available.

Reference service, periodicals, reading rooms, journals and multimedia, home loans (books and multimedia) and inter-library loans, book drop boxes where you can return books outside opening hours, free access to the internet on local computers and wireles, electronic and multimedia services, photocopy service, coffee shop.
