Description

Fanny Ardant is one of the most striking figures in contemporary French cinema. Born in Saumur, France, in 1949, she has distinguished herself through her elegant presence, unmistakable voice, and ability to portray complex and intense characters. Over the course of her decades-long career, she has built a rich and diverse filmography, becoming a leading figure in French, European, and world cinema.

In addition to her career as an actress in film and theater, Fanny Ardant has also developed a career as a director. Her work behind the camera reveals a particular sensitivity to themes related to memory, passion, individual freedom, and the female condition; her films are characterized by an intimate and poetic approach that highlights strong, emotionally complex characters.

Her contribution to cinematic culture continues to inspire new generations of actors, directors, and audiences, confirming her status as one of the great artistic figures of contemporary art and cultureโ€”which is why the Board of Directors of the D. Luรญs I Foundation decided to honor her.

Fanny Ardant will be in Cascais on September 17 at 7:30 p.m. for a tribute event to be held at the Maria de Jesus Barroso Auditorium at the Casa das Histรณrias Paula Rego. Organized by the D. Luรญs I Foundation, in collaboration with the Cascais City Council, the event will also feature producer Ana Pinhรฃo Moura and actress Ana Padrรฃo, who is part of the cast of โ€œEla Olhava Sem Nada Ver,โ€ the new feature film directed and written by Fanny Ardant and filmed on the island of Sรฃo Miguel in the Azores.

During the event, an exclusive 15-minute excerpt from โ€œEla Olhava Sem Nada Verโ€ (2026), currently in post-production, will be screened. The film was produced by Ana Pinhรฃo Moura through APM โ€“ Actions Per Minute, and features a cast that brings together Portuguese and international actors, including Ana Padrรฃo, Carolina Amaral, Paulo Pires, Miguel Borges, Vladimir Mishukov, Ricardo Pereira, Yulia Gancheva, Anabela Moreira, Marcello Urgeghe, and Miguel Monteiro, with a special appearance by Gรฉrard Depardieu.
