St Patrick's Day Gastronomic Experience - 5th edition
We already know that Cascais Food Lab loves celebrations and that it never misses a good opportunity to associate itself with occasions that involve culture and, of course, food!
This coming 17th March is Ireland's main holiday, which honours the patron saint Saint Patrick.
In Cascais, this date is already part of our celebrations. This year, the celebration will be dressed in green, white and orange and Irish literature will also be on the table, with an irish coffee to toast.
Those who want to join us at dinner will have the opportunity to taste an Irish menu that will transport us to Dublin, Cork, Limerick or Galway... with a literary moment, also at the table, organised by The Cascais Burns Club.
Dinner will be served for 30 people. The starters will be Leek potato soup with cream and herbs and Scallops with black pudding and crispy Parma ham, traditional recipes for this festive season. The main course will be Chargrilled Spring Lamb, a traditional Irish dish featuring grilled lamb. Soda Bread, which is a bread that contains bicarbonate of soda among other ingredients, will also be tasted. It's quick to make, rich and tender and is traditionally eaten on St Patrick's Day. To finish, Rhubarb Crumble with vanilla custard will be served, a temptation that is hard to resist. To accompany these delicacies, there will be plenty of typical Irish drinks, such as Guinness.
