Printmaking Residency | Charme de Londres III
This four-session printmaking residency takes its cue from the work of Bartolomeu Cid dos Santos, the Portuguese printmaker who spent much of his career in London. A selection of his work is held at the Casa Reynaldo dos Santos e Irene Virote Quilhó dos Santos in Parede, where the residency takes place.
Led by artist Ana Natividade, participants will look closely at his prints and working methods, then experiment with both direct techniques, such as drypoint using a range of tools, and indirect techniques, such as etching and aquatint. The approach is tailored to each participant's experience and the kind of work they want to develop.
The residency is open to young people and adults aged 18 and over, and runs in a small group of 3 to 4 people. There are four five-hour sessions, from 10h00 to 13h00 and from 14h30 to 16h30. The fee includes all materials and equipment.
