17 Cores para o Amanhã
What does a fairer, greener future look like through an artist's eyes? "17 Cores para o Amanhã" (17 Colours for Tomorrow) is a travelling exhibition that brings the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to communities across the municipality of Cascais.
The SDGs are 17 global goals set out in the UN's 2030 Agenda. They tackle challenges such as ending poverty, achieving gender equality, protecting the oceans and taking action on climate change.
The exhibition features 17 original canvases by 10 artists, each working with complete creative freedom and a wide range of techniques, textures and styles. Every piece offers a personal take on one of these shared goals.
More than an institutional display, the exhibition sets out to be a visual manifesto on the move. It brings culture closer to local neighbourhoods and invites visitors of all ages to reflect on the part each of us can play in building a more just and balanced world.
The exhibition is on show at the Galeria de Arte da Freguesia de Cascais e Estoril, in Estoril, and admission is free.
