Description

Have you ever heard of Etegami, the “art of the Japanese postcard”? The name Etegami comes from the combination of the words “e” (image) and “tegami” (letter or postcard), showing how art can transform ideas into visual messages.

In this workshop, part of the exhibition “Cascais, 1870–1960: A History in Postcards” on display at Casa Sommer, children will discover a fun way to create postcards that combine simple drawings and short phrases. Led by Casa Nic and Inês, this activity challenges participants to experiment with new techniques: drawing with brushes, paints, and freehand shapes; exploring colors; and creating personalized postcards full of imagination.

At the end, each participant will make their own stamp, making each creation even more special and unique.

Target audience: families with children ages 4 to 12
Free participation subject to prior registration HERE.
